I started my adventure with the Soft Condensed Matter Group in 2018. Since then, I have been working with DNA interactions in a crowded environment, biochemical catalysis, and microfluidic systems.
Born in Kolkata, India. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2012.
Alicja is researching the change of nanoviscosity of cell cytoplasm during the cell’s death at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
She joins the LIDER grant (leader: Karina Kwapiszewska) and conducts research on the internalization of chemical and biological molecules into living cells. Aneta graduated biotechnology (master’s degree, specialization Medicines and Cosmetics) from the Faculty of Chemistry at Warsaw University of Technology. As a part of her engineering thesis, she conducted research on the inactivation of bacteriophages by the electric field (with Łukasz Richter and Jan Paczesny). Afterward, she started cooperation with the National Medicines Institute, where she carried out master’s research.

Post-doctoral scientist working in the field of single molecule techniques, fluorescence correlation techniques applied to single cells. Currently researching biophysics of mRNA within “Horizon for Excellence in messenger RNA applications in immunoOncology”
Since 2017 he’s been studying Chemistry Technology at Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry. His first contact with the team was a summer internship under Karina Kwapiszewska in 2019. He joined the team in 2020 for an engineering thesis under Robert Hołyst and Karna Kwapiszewska. He conducts research on rotations of fluorescent nanoparticles.
Asia graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Warsaw University with a specialization in Molecular biophysics (Bachelor’s degree). Currently, she is a master’s student in the same field of studies. Her bachelor’s thesis related to the analysis of internalization of the anticancer drug into living cells using FCS and she conducted research under the supervision of Karina Kwapiszewska and Aneta Karpińska. Her areas of scientific interest are cancer treatment and drug development. In her free time, Asia enjoys cooking, traveling, and snowboarding during the winter.
Passionate about breaking interdisciplinary barriers. My main interest is understanding cell biology and biophysics in order to utilize them in bioanalysis, tissue engineering, and pharmacology. In my research, I bridge biology with hi-tech solutions like microfluidics and advanced microscopy.
